Welcome to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church
Two words that are basic to the vocabulary of the Christian Community are Hospitality (philoxenia) and Thanksgiving
(eucharistia). These are words that have remained in my mind ever since seminary. I believe they are attributes necessary to the character of the Church,
and they are priorities in the spiritual life of the people of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Pennington.
Welcome to our website. We give thanks to God that you have found us. We hope you
will find it inviting; but more importantly we hope you will come and join us for worship and community. Our sacred goal will be to offer you
hospitality as we celebrate the Holy Eucharist together, giving thanks to God for the presence of the risen Lord in our midst.
Our mission is to be a community centered in Jesus Christ; being led by the Holy Spirit; learning and spreading the Good
News; while living and sharing the Love of God. We welcome you to join us in our mission.
Faithfully in Christ,
(The Rev.) John C. Belmont,
Rector
