Welcome to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church

Two words that are basic to the vocabulary of the Christian Community are Hospitality (philoxenia) and Thanksgiving (eucharistia).  These are words that have remained in my mind ever JackBelmont2002bsince seminary.  I believe they are attributes necessary to the character of the Church, and they are priorities in the spiritual life of the people of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Pennington.

Welcome to our website.  We give thanks to God that you have found us.   We hope you will find it inviting; but more importantly we hope you will come and join us for worship and community.  Our sacred goal will be to offer you hospitality as we celebrate the Holy Eucharist together, giving thanks to God for the presence of the risen Lord in our midst.

Our mission is to be a community centered in Jesus Christ; being led by the Holy Spirit; learning and spreading the Good News; while living and sharing the Love of God.  We welcome you to join us in our mission.

      Faithfully in Christ,

      (The Rev.)  John C. Belmont,

      Rector

CLERGY SUMMER OFFICE HOURS

The clergy are available daily, but their duties may require them to be other places rather than their office during the summer.  Should you need to speak to Jack or Emily, please call the office and the answering machine will give you instructions about how to contact one of our priests.

Red Wagon for Crisis Ministry

There will be a red wagon in the Narthex to collect non-perisred wagon3hable food items for the Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton. On the first Sunday of each month, these items will be presented during the Offertory along with the bread and wine as part of our sacred act of thanksgiving to God. Wondering what kinds of food to give?  Lists are available in the Narthex.
